Dr. Aswood Bousseau is an eminent Associate Professor at Rhode Island College, School of Social Work. As a highly skilled licensed clinical social worker (PA), she boasts ample experience in inpatient care and community mental health services. Her clinical practice has honed her expertise in individual and family therapy. Dr. Bousseau imparts her vast knowledge through various foundation and advanced-year courses in the MSW program. In addition to her academic responsibilities, Dr. Bousseau plays a crucial role as the faculty development coordinator for the Latinx/Hispanic Center of Excellence (COE) at Rhode Island College. Through her visionary leadership, she pioneered the COE Faculty Development Institute (FDI) to train and guide tenure-track faculty toward successful scholarship, tenure, and promotion.
Dr. Bousseau holds a doctoral degree (DSW) from the University of Pennsylvania and an MSW from Simmons University. Her clinical background nurtures her keen understanding of how existing systems fall short of providing justice to all individuals. Dr. Bousseau is passionate about promoting justice and channeling her expertise to improve just outcomes and joyful experiences for all humans.
