Lacey Wind, also known as Blue Wind Woman, LCSW, is the Public Health Policy and Programs Manager-Behavioral Health at the National Indian Health Board (NIHB). An enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, she relocated from her reservation in Busby, Montana, to the DC area last year.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Lacey has focused on promoting wellness and resilience in tribal communities. She has led nonprofit programs providing culturally tailored services to juvenile delinquents and directed the Northern Cheyenne Substance Use Disorder Recovery Center. She also created integrated behavioral health and opioid use disorder programs across seven sites in Eastern Montana and developed a workforce pipeline in partnership with Chief Dull Knife Tribal College.
Most recently, Lacey served as Director of Integrated Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder at the Montana Primary Care Association (MPCA), offering technical assistance and training to rural hospitals and clinics. She also contributed to MSW student practicum placements and served as an Adjunct Professor at Carroll College.
Lacey is deeply committed to improving the well-being of youth, tribal communities, and advancing equity in healthcare. She continues to lead training initiatives across the United States, focusing on Native Americans in healthcare and promoting greater inclusion in health policies.
