Dr. Quenette L. Walton, LCSW is an Associate Professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. Her research focuses on social class, gender, culture, and race as intersectional social determinants of health and mental health disparities. The aims of her research program are to build knowledge and develop theory that informs policies, practices, culturally relevant, and evidence-based interventions to reduce depression and improve well-being among middle-class Black women. Dr. Walton is also a licensed clinical social worker where she has over 15 years of practice experience working with Black women with a variety of mental health challenges. Dr. Walton earned her PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Jane Adams College of Social Work, her MSW from the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, and her BA from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
