Dr. Melissa Hirschi, LCSW, is currently and Associate Professor and Director of the Bachelor of Social Work program at Utah Valley University (UVU). Prior to joining UVU she spent several years at the University of Memphis teaching and working on projects focused on workforce development, particularly around areas of substance use and mental health; individuals living with HIV; the intersection of first responders and individuals living with mental illness; integrated healthcare for uninsured and underinsured individuals; and children with special healthcare needs. She has practice experience working with members of marginalized communities including formerly homeless women and children and families .
