Jamie Borgan is currently a PhD candidate in Social Welfare at the City University of New York Graduate Center with a focus on policy implementation and equity, especially in the areas of housing and homelessness. Her research also focuses on inclusion, anti-oppression and gatekeeping in social work education. Prior to beginning PhD studies, Jamie worked extensively in the field of housing and homelessness in nonprofit management with experience in fair housing, social enterprise, domestic violence, harm reduction, and vocational services for individuals experiencing homelessness, criminal legal system involvement, and facing other barriers to employment. She has taught extensively on nonprofit management, community organizing and organizations, and social welfare policy.
