doctoral student
Indiana University School of Social Work
Indianapolis, IN, United States
I got my bachelor's and master's degrees in social work from University of Seoul in South Korea. During my master's program, I worked as an activist in a disability women's activist organization and researched the empowerment of Korean women with disabilities. After graduation, I worked as a social worker for two years at a community center, where I worked on employment and case management for people with disabilities. After that, I conducted research on homeless and facilities for people with disabilities at the Seoul Welfare Foundation, a welfare policy research institute in Seoul. I am currently a second-year doctoral student at the Indiana University School of Social Work. My research interests are fundamentally based on the resilience of marginalized groups (people with disabilities, LGBTQ+). Currently, I am specifically interested in the family and religious dynamics of Korean American LGBTQ+ people living in the United States.
