Carson De Fries is a PhD candidate at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work. She received a BA in Psychology from the University of Kansas and an MSW with a concentration in Aging Services and Policy from the University of Denver. After receiving her MSW, she worked as the Intergenerational Program Coordinator at the Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging where she conducted community-based research on the impacts of intergenerational programs on ageism and social isolation across the age spectrum. Her research focuses on community-level interventions to grow social networks for older adults, the impact of intergenerational relationships, best practices for end-of-life care, and gerontology education.
