Danny Carroll's PhD, MSW primary research interest is white supremacy, anti-racist social work practice, race-based trauma and traumatic stress, and the role social work can play in combating far-right extremism. Before completing his PhD, Danny was the Executive Director of numerous nonprofits. Additionally, he established an international NGO focused on the economic liberation of women in the nation of Burundi. Danny has sat on and chaired numerous boards of directors for non-profit organizations. He currently sits as the Board President of an organization that works to prevent violent extremism and works with those seeking to leave a life of hate. He received his Bachelor of Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University and both his Master of Social Work and PhD from Indiana University.
