MSW Graduate
San Jose State University, United States
I am an MSW graduate from the School of Social Work at San José State University who is bilingual and bicultural in Vietnamese. My research interests are community mental health, culturally responsive practices, and global social work education and development. My research interests stem from my previous experiences in program development for health promotion among disadvantaged groups in rural regions of Vietnam. Through these direct engagements and collaborations with local communities, I gained insight into local community attitudes and norms to work with cultural sensitivity and competency. As an MSW graduate whose field of practice is a macro-level practice intended to bring social change and justice, I am particularly interested in how to promote mental health through strengthening community social support systems in both the US and Vietnam.
