Bailey Nichols is a PhD Candidate within the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist University (Arkadelphia, AR) in 2013 with a B.S. in Biology and minors in Dietetics and Psychology. Upon graduating, she spent four years in Wilmington, Delaware serving in various roles within the non-profit, UrbanPromise. UrbanPromise provides several programs including after school programs, summer camps, a job training program and affordable private schools. Bailey’s experience with UrbanPromise greatly impacted her worldview and informed her decision to pursue a degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh. Bailey has several research interests which include improving the integration of religion and spirituality in social work education and practice, student field placement experiences and increasing access to mental health services.
