Erin J. Olson, PhD, MSW, LISW (she/her/hers)

Dr. Olson is a professor of social work at Dordt University where she has been teaching since 2007. Olson received her MSW from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2004 and her PhD from Baylor University in 2017. Olson helped start the MSW program at Dordt in 2020 and the program earned full accreditation in 2023. Olson has also helped with reaffirmation of the BSW program in 2014 and 2021. Dr. Olson teaches a wide variety of classes in the MSW program and previously served as both Program Director and Field Director in the BSW program. Olson’s dissertation research focused on social work education specifically looking at how a sense of calling to the profession impacts academic and life satisfaction.
