Dr. Jan M. Ivery is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Georgia State University and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. Dr. Ivery received her PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University, her MSW from the University of Pittsburgh, and BA in Sociology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her research agenda and teaching experiences emphasize macro social work practice and have been focused on leadership, community partnerships, community and organizational capacity, and service delivery associated with homelessness, and gerontology. She is an Associate Editor of the Encyclopedia of Marco Social Work and author of the book Macro Practice Skills: A Step-by-Step Guide. Dr. Ivery is on the editorial board of the Journal of Community Practice and a member of the CSWE Commission on Membership and Professional Development (CMPD).
