Alix Sanchez-Gomez MPH, is a Ph.D. student and research assistant at Loyola University Chicago. She completed a BSW from St. Augustine College in Chicago and an MPH from Memorial University in St. John's, Canada. In the United States, she worked in a domestic violence (DV) crisis hotline and as a DV court advocate. She also worked in the healthcare field, both in Colombia and the U.S., providing community-based education and helping immigrant, rural and low-income individuals access services. More recently in Canada, her efforts focused on promoting the mental and physical well-being of seniors with disabilities. Her areas of interest include public health, healthcare access, immigration, international social work, geriatric social work, and domestic violence.
