Dr. Matt Ignacio is an enrolled tribal member of the Tohono O’odham Nation and Assistant Professor of Social Work at Arizona State University on the Tucson campus. For over two decades and prior to ASU, he served as a national educator/trainer and manager of HIV education and capacity-building assistance programs targeting tribal health centers, state health departments, and community-based organizations throughout the United States. Dr. Ignacio received his Doctorate of Philosophy in Social Welfare at the University of Washington School of Social Work in Seattle, Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in New York City, and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California in Santa Barbara.
