Gary L. Jones Jr., Ph.D., LMSW Assistant Professor of Social Work, practice and research experiences are in the areas of child welfare, family formation, racial equity, and the role of social determinants on well-being. He has served for 20 years as a social worker in various capacities in Alabama, Tennessee, and Maryland. Gary Jones has received training and participated on qualitative and quantitative research projects with faculty members at Wayne State University, Southern Adventist University, and Howard University. Gary has participated on a research team lead by Dr. Onolemhemhen in research on women’s health and Vesico Vaginal Fistula in Kana, Nigeria. He has completed grant reviews for the federal government. These opportunities and practice experience were the catalyst to develop skills to bring about change in the lives of the resilient, underserved, and transitional aged youth. He is currently the MSW Coordinator at Tennessee State Univeristy, Nashville, TN.
