As Professor and Director of the Center for Leadership and Management, Allison Zippay teaches in the management and policy specialization at the SSW and has designed and implemented numerous leadership development education and training series for emerging and executive leaders in the nonprofit human services workforce. She has held administrative positions at the SSW including PhD Director and Associate Dean for Curriculum and Evaluation, and has participated in leadership development institutes through the Management Development Program at Harvard, and the Management Institute for Women in Higher Education. She has directed the Doctoral Scholars Institute at the Network for Social Work Management for the past six years, and, as Chair of the Council on Leadership Development, CSWE, was a founding designer of the Program Directors Leadership Academy. Her research interests include strategic management and community planning, siting of community-based supported housing, locational theory, and resource mobilization among low-income workers. She holds an MSW and PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.
