Jaylene Schaefer, PhD, LISW is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Social Work at Xavier University. Her areas of research include interprofessional education, prevention of child abuse and neglect, and home visitation. Dr. Schaefer has extensive practice experience in child protection, early childhood program administration, program evaluation, and medical social work. Her degrees include a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, an M.S.W. from the University of Kentucky and a Ph.D. from Indiana University. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the State of Ohio and is a trainer for the Partners in Parenting Education (PIPE) Curriculum, Brazelton's Touchpoints Model, Nursing Child Assessment Satellite Training (NCAST), and Team Strategies & Tools to Enhance Performance & Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS).
