Despite the integration of diverse materials into social work curricula, there is a significant gap in the literature regarding methods for assessing knowledge to enhance cultural competency. The authors present findings from a pilot study conducted with graduate social work students to assess their knowledge of cultural competency.

Participants will assess the effectiveness of using scales to evaluate cultural competency among social work students
Participants will gain an understanding of the process involved in developing comprehensive scales to assess cultural competency
Participants will learn how to integrate scale development into teaching mental health in social work
