Individuals with hearing loss experience multiple physical and mental health disparities. One way to address these disparities is to integrate social work into hearing healthcare (audiology). This presentation addresses the integration of MSW student practicums in the audiology clinic and how social work competencies can be met in this setting.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to define the gap in service provisions for individuals with hearing loss.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe the benefits of integrating social work MSW student practicums in the novel setting of an audiology clinic.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to list the ways that social work competencies can be met through a variety of learning tasks in an audiology clinic MSW practicum.
