This teaching note explores immersive clinical simulations, blending Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Expressive Arts to support trauma recovery in group settings. Drawing on Future Selves Theory, Collective Efficacy, and the Design Justice Framework, the presenting clinicians combine theoretical foundations with hands-on AI-integrated expressive arts activities.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand Theoretical Foundations: Participants will grasp key theories such as Future Selves Theory, Collective Efficacy, and the Design Justice Framework, and learn their application in developing immersive simulations for group trauma recovery.
  2. Master AI and Expressive Arts Integration: Participants will acquire skills in integrating AI and expressive arts into therapeutic practices, focusing on using these tools to enhance engagement and facilitate trauma recovery in group settings.
  3. Apply Theory to Practice in Group Settings: Participants will be equipped to translate theoretical insights into practical applications, implementing innovative, multi-modal therapy simulations in group therapy contexts while adhering to ethical and inclusive practices guided by the Design Justice Framework.
