Promoting Culturally Responsive Wellness for Life: Critical Exploration of the Lifespan Services Framework

In this presentation, the Lifespan Services Framework (LSF) will be described and explored through a culturally responsive lens. This presentation focuses on further development of the LSF which charts services and supports of people with Downs Syndrome, concluding with integration of the unique expression of self-determination within collectivist cultures.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe the Lifespan Services Framework and what it entails.
  2. Upon completion, the participant will be able to apply a collectivist cultural perspective to the concept of self-determination in working with people with neuro-developmental disabilities.
  3. Upon completion, the participant will be able to discuss the potential expansion of the Lifespan Services Framework to people with other neuro-developmental disabilities.
