Dasha Rhodes, PhD, LMSW is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida and has taught at both the Bachelor and Master level. Her research interest includes racial disparities, Black Americans’ mental health during police encounters, and policing and social work. She has worked on research projects that included older adults and education, and police and community engagement efforts in Baltimore City. Previously, she worked as a hospice social worker in the greater Houston area prior to receiving her PhD from Morgan State University. Dr. Rhodes also serves as a board member for The Institute for Civility in Government, an agency that encourages the reduction of polarization in the political process in public and private sectors through respect and teaching.
