Jonecia Mickens is a Doctoral candidate at Clark Atlanta University. She has her Master's in Social Work from the University of Central Florida and her Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from Bethune Cookman University. She is currently working on her dissertation that focuses on the intricate connections between adverse childhood experiences, health behavior, and mental health outcomes, aiming to contribute valuable insight to the field. In addition to her academic pursuits, Jonecia serves as a program coordinator for a grant-funded project that examines campus climate and sexual assault at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Jonecia has extensive experience in medical social work, advocacy for domestic violence, homelessness, and veteran affairs.
