Deanna Cooper, MSW, LCSW, has an extensive history working in rural and Tribal communities in direct practice and teaching. Deanna serves as the BSW Director in the School of Social Work at the University of Montana and has overseen the growth of the 2+2 Distance BSW program over the past eight years. Before joining the UMSSW faculty, Deanna worked in the Four-Corners area of New Mexico for 20+ years. She has worked in the addiction field with incarcerated youth and adults, in school social work, and with veterans in both rural and urban settings. Deanna received her BA in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and completed her MSW at UC Berkeley.
