​​Bonita B. Sharma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Texas at San Antonio, College for Health, Community, and Policy. Her research uses feminist perspectives to understand place-based socio-economic and environmental factors impacting women’s health, empowerment, and wellbeing in the local and global context. Her other areas of research include HIV health, reproductive health, inclusive policies, and global social work issues. She currently teaches in the MSW program at UTSA and serves on the board of Collective for Orphan Care and Education (COCE)- Kenya.
