Dr. Whitney Grube is an Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas’ School of Social Welfare where she received her PhD in Social Work. Her primary area of scholarship focuses on children and adolescents experiencing complex and severe mental health disorders and receiving outpatient community mental health services. Dr. Grube is particularly interested in Medicaid Home and Community Based Services(?) (HCBS), Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) Waiver policy, service use, and various implementation practices across publicly funded mental health systems of care. Currently, Dr. Grube is co-leading the evaluation of a federally funded universal primary prevention program. This initiative, crafted collaboratively with families and communities, aims to showcase an integrated, cross-sectoral approach fostering comprehensive child and family well-being systems while addressing social determinants of health domains. Dr. Grube has led numerous program evaluation activities across the state and has provided hundreds of hours of technical assistance to community mental health providers on implementation practices.
