Kyung-Mee Choi began teaching at the Department of Social Work, University of St. Francis in 2010. She received her Ph.D. in social work in 2010 and her Master of Social Work in 2005 from Loyola University Chicago. Her research interests include immigrant family mental health, intergenerational trauma, migrants and refugees resilience, older adults, aging, death and dying across cultures, and culturally competent social work practice. She has taught the courses of Social Work in a Pluralistic Society and Women in Contemporary Society at the undergraduate level, and the courses of Human Behavior and Social Environment, Social Work Practice with Older Adults, Women’s Issues and Feminist Practice, and Field Practicum & Seminar at the graduate level. She strives to develop enthusiasm for learning in her students, teach her course subjects well, and create a respectful community of faculty and students based on her cross-cultural learning experiences in Korea and the United States.
