Dr. Shadik is an associate professor in the Department of Social Work at Ohio University. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a PhD in social work, received her MSW from Western Michigan University, and graduated from Kalamazoo College with a BA in psychology. Her dissertation research focused on fathering and child maltreatment. Her research interests include fathering, sibling violence, IPV, and child welfare. Her practice background involved working with families in a variety of settings, including working with parents who had maltreated a child and providing outpatient therapy for children, teens, and their families. She is licensed in both Ohio (LISW-S) and Virginia (LCSW).
