Jalissa R. Worthy is a third-year Ph.D. student at Howard University School of Social Work. She obtained a Master of Social Work degree from Salisbury University. Ms. Worthy has over 14 years of experience in program coordination and prevention, supporting various vulnerable populations. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she worked on the Eastern Shore of Maryland as the Project Director of Shore Way to College, a Maryland Next Generation Scholars Program. Her research interests are informal networks of support and trauma, adversity, and resilliency.
