Hannan Hijazi is a third-year doctoral student at Howard University School of Social Work. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Marymount University. Hannan is a licensed professional in Maryland, and her ultimate goal is to establish her own counseling practice, teach, and conduct research. Her interests lie in trauma-informed practices, mental health concerns of immigrants and refugees, the experiences of Muslims in the 21st century, child and youth development, acculturation issues, cultural humility, and religiosity.
