Ishita Kapur has a bachelor of arts degree in Psychology from the University of Delhi in India and a master’s degree in social work from Jamia Millia Islamia University in India. Kapur has conducted research with non-governmental organizations in India that focus on child welfare. She has also conducted research on parental neglect and educational development in children. She aims to contribute pro-actively to social work practice and address social issues informed by an understanding of structural inequities in society and work towards creation of an inclusive society.
Kapur’s research interests include at-risk children, vulnerable and marginalized youth populations, child trauma, youth mental health, healthy child development, youth bullying, and positive parent-child relationships.
