Cristy Cummings, PhD, MSW is the MSW Program Director and an assistant professor of social work at the University of North Florida. Her research primarily focuses on help-seeking behaviors and access to services, especially among underserved populations, such as LGBTQ+ individuals and victims of sexual violence. Her research aims to understand and reduce barriers and disparities in social service organizations and institutions of higher education. She teaches coursework in the areas of practice, research, field education, and working with diverse client groups. She received her BA in Women’s Studies and her MSW from Indiana University-South Bend and her PhD in Social Work from Michigan State University.
