Mary Florence Sullivan is a licensed social worker (New York) with over a decade of experience in the social work and social services field. After receiving her master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University in 2016, Sullivan joined the New York City Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence where she directed an innovative program to support survivors of intimate partner violence throughout the city. Prior to this role, Sullivan supported unaccompanied migrant youth in New York City on an interdisciplinary team of social workers and immigration lawyers and worked abroad throughout Latin America. She is currently a clinician with a group therapy practice in Brooklyn, NY.
Sullivan is a doctoral candidate at the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. She is an adjunct instructor in the master’s program and supports social work students as a member of the student services team. Her social work research interests include immigration and youth, spirituality and social work, and morality, ethics, and social work practice.
