Sarafat, a first generation post graduate student from Bangladesh, is studying PhD in the School of Social Work at the University of Alabama. His research interest primarily encompasses aging health and health disparities. Mr. Sarafat is committed to advocating social justice by contributing with his research and policy advocacy to eradicating inequities in health and quality of life especially of the vulnerable and marginalized group of people. He is currently involved with a couple of research projects related to Cancer patients and palliative care, mental health predictors of older adults, ACEs and homelessness, and Black maternal health. Mr. Sarafat has also been working as an administrator of the Journal of Social Work in End-of-life & Palliative Care.
