Joseph Heger holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of South Florida. His presentation originates from a curriculum redesign project undertaken during an independent study at Michigan.

Joseph has contributed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education, community-based organizations, and hospice care through data analytics, grant writing, program management, operational support, and social services coordination. His research interests focus on the intricate relationships between conflict transformation, global health, and social constructivism, and their combined effects on human conflicts, security issues, and thanatology at both organizational and community levels.
