Alyson Balfour, BSW

Volunteer Coordinator
Council on Social Work Education

Alyson Balfour is the Accreditation Volunteer Coordinator at the Council for Social Work Education (CSWE), where she manages site visit matching operations as well as volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement processes. Before joining CSWE in April 2022, Alyson spent her career working in case management, as well as in team management, volunteer coordination, and other non-profit administration roles primarily in youth services organizations. Alyson believes in cultivating community through authentic connections and is energized by innovation in program implementation.

Alyson holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Community-Based Youth Development from Nazareth College. She has also completed academic specializations in sociology, youth services administration, youth and culture, and additional professional certifications in non-profit leadership. As a lifelong volunteer, Alyson has a particular appreciation for volunteerism and the profound impact volunteers have on advancing the work of an organization.
