Claire Willey-Sthapit, (PhD, MSSW), is an Assistant Professor with the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare. Building on her family ties and professional experiences in Pokhara, Nepal, Dr. Willey-Sthapit's scholarship centers translations between domestic violence research, policy, and practice, both within the United States and in international development settings. She has also been involved in research examining community strategies to address domestic violence and men's gender equitable attitudes and behaviors. She has collaborated on papers and presentations on critical discourse analysis for social work and transnational social work research. Dr. Willey-Sthapit earned her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville and her PhD from the University of Washington School of Social Work. Her scholarship is also informed by Graduate Certificates in Feminist Studies and South Asia Studies.
