Dr. Husain Lateef is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at the Brown School (Washington University in St. Louis). His research focus revolves around Afrocentric approaches to inform practice, preventive measures, and interventions geared towards youth populations of African descent. His research agenda explores the relationship between Afrocentric constructs and well-being among Black youth through adolescence (ages 13-17), emerging adulthood, and established adulthood. Lateef is also passionate about social justice movements, with a particular interest in the contributions of Black Americans to the history of social welfare.
