Dr. Aaliah Zonicle currently serves as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Office of Gender Based Violence in the School of Social Work at Arizona State University. She obtained her doctoral degree from Howard University School of Social Work in 2022. Dr. Zonicle’s dissertation research centered on the sexual harassment of Black women in the workplace as she aims to advocate for advancements in safer working environments and culturally-appropriate policies for Black women that experience this pervasive issue. As a Bahamian-American, she passionately subscribes to the role of a global citizen. Guided by this perspective, Dr. Zonicle is fully committed to discovering new ways to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. In 2016, she received her undergraduate degree from Clemson University with a major in psychology and minor in women’s studies. With this pivotal foundation, she continued her educational pursuit at Howard University School of Social Work, where she obtained her MSW in 2018. Dr. Zonicle’s induction into the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society are indicative of her outstanding academic accomplishments and attained scholarship in social work. As a scholar and social change agent, Dr. Zonicle’s research seeks to strategically highlight the disenfranchisement of Black women, specifically in the area of gender-based violence.
