Dr. Felicia Tuggle is a social work educator, development practitioner, and cross sectoral collaborator with over 15 years of experience in capacity development design, implementation, and evaluation. Dr. Tuggle’s public engaged research and scholarship focus on local and global partnerships that advance sustainable development and improve quality of life. Dr. Tuggle’s work engages and mobilizes multidisciplinary and cross sectoral stakeholders to advance indigenous knowledge, co-produce contemporary knowledge, and translate science and technological advances in ways that generate contextually responsive solutions that mitigate existing and anticipatory challenges related to hunger, health, and education. Dr. Tuggle uses the UN Sustainable Development goals as a framework for her teaching, research, and service. Her scholarship reflects social work’s legacy of social and community development and helps higher education institutions enhance their service mission by bringing universities, organizations, and the communities they serve together to address local and global challenges using inclusive and participatory practices. Dr. Tuggle is an active member of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) and serves as a member of the organization’s capacity building committee. She is also Commissioner for the Council on Social Work’s Global Commission on Social Work Education and serves as the Chair for the commissions’ Partners in International Education awards committee.
