Dr. Shannon M. Cain is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Suicide Research in the Department of Epidemiology and Community Health and an Adjunct Instructor in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She earned her PhD in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She also holds a MSW from Indiana University. Shannon's research focuses on preventing trauma. She is specifically interested in trauma-informed care, evidence-informed practice, maternal-child health, and suicide prevention.
