Patrick Leung, PhD is Professor in Social Work and the Gerson & Sabina David Endowed Professor for Global Aging and Director of the Office for International Social Work Education at the Graduate College of Social Work, University of Houston, USA. Dr. Leung is the Principal Investigator and Evaluator of numerous child welfare and family services research projects. Dr. Leung teaches program evaluation, research methodology, practice evaluation, and doctoral-level multivariate statistics. He was the inaugural Doctoral Program Director at UH-GCSW in 1992 and President of the Asian & Pacific Islander Social Work Educators Association from 2003 to 2010. He was a board member of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) from 2003 to 2006 and served on the Commission for Diversity and Social and Economic Justice Council on Social Work Education from 2007 to 2010. Currently, he is President of the Phi Beta Delta International Honor Society at UH. He is the immediate past President of the Houston Chinese Faculty Association, Board Chair of the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Houston Independent School District Asian Advisory Committee, and Board Member of the Catholic Charities of Galveston and Houston. He co-chairs the Texas Title IV-E Child Welfare Roundtable Evaluation Committee in Texas and serves on the National Title IV-E Evaluation Task Force. His research areas include cultural sensitivity training, mental health, children and families, immigrant issues, domestic violence, and gerontology.
