Gabbie Aquino-Adriatico (she/hers/siya) was born and raised in Tongva land (Southern California). Her parents, lolos, and lolas migrated from Teacher’s Village, Quezon City and Pagsanjan, Laguna, settled in Tongva land (Azusa, California), and never left. Gabbie identifies as a Pinay settler in Tongva land, daughter, ate, apo, ninang, partner, and most recently, parent.
Gabbie is an assistant professor for Cal State Fullerton's MSW program. Her research focuses on the mental health experiences of Filipina mothers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Gabbie is the incoming president for the FANHS OCIE chapter for the 2024-2026 cycle. Gabbie hopes to cultivate an environment where all youth feel seen, supported, and empowered. Her various roles and experiences are shaped by her family, her community, and her educational experiences.
