Elaine M. Maccio, PhD, LCSW, earned her MSW and PhD in Social Welfare from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is the Betty J. Stewart Associate Professor in Social Work Practice with Childrenr, MSW Program Director, and Associate Director of the School of Social Work at Louisiana State University. Her teaching interests include social work practice, psychiatric diagnosis, and LGBTQ+ topics, and her research focuses on LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness. She is co-author of the forthcoming book, LGBTQ Runaway & Homeless Youth: A Guide to Practice, Policy & Research.
