Jessica Lambert Ward, MSW, is an enrolled citizen of the Lumbee Tribe of NC and a clinical assistant professor at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Social Work. Prior to joining the School of Social Work faculty in 2022, Jessica’s work focused on reducing and removing systemic barriers to student success and thriving in higher education, most notably as the founder and inaugural director of the Carolina Collaborative for Resilience – a program that provided specialized training to UNC faculty and staff who provide support to students as they cope with challenges related to identity, race, and belonging. As a macro social worker and educator, Jessica brings a blend of practice expertise and empathy to the classroom, creating an environment where students are encouraged to critically engage with pressing social issues and to explore the role of proximal relationships in creating innovative solutions to effect positive change.
