Dr. Moore received her BA in Psychology from the University of Mississippi, MSW from the University of Denver and PhD from the University of Colorado. She is an Assistant Professor at Campbellsville University, carver School of Social Work. She serves as the Lead Professor for their Substance Use Disorder Area of Focus and is co-developer of their new Forensic Area of Focus. She is also working on projects for transformational learning and interprofessional course development. Dr. Moore has been in private practice in Oxford, Mississippi for 11.5 years. Her areas of specialty are anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, ADHD and trauma. Her therapeutic approaches vary depending on the needs and strengths of the client but are largely strength based cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. She spent the first 20 years of her work in Denver, Colorado. She worked for University of Colorado Health Sciences Center’s Addictions Research and Treatment Services for most of that time providing treatment services and programs development for women and adolescents in the criminal justice system. She also worked several years as the Chief Operating Officer for a large Substance Use Disorder non-profit treatment organization providing an array of services for all ages and levels of need. Dr. Moore combines her micro and macro experiences to enhance her development of courses and areas of focus in her Professorial role at Campbellsville University.
