Aaron Brown is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Originally from Tennessee, Aaron worked as an outpatient therapist in rural communities of East Tennessee before working in academia. Aaron's research is focused on improving access to evidence-based treatments for substance use disorders in rural communities by studying scalable harm reduction strategies and how to retain social workers in these communities. Aaron has expertise regarding mobile health interventions and the implementation of harm reduction strategies such as medications for opioid use disorder.
