Dr. Alison Sutton-Ryan DBH, LCSW, LISAC is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Social Work at Salisbury University and an adjunct professor at Smith College School for Social Work. She has over 25 years’ experience in psychotherapy and program development. Her expertise includes integrated care, addictions, perinatal mood disorders, treatment of medical professionals, and veterinary social work. She was previously the Director of Mental Health at University of Arizona College of Medicine, Health Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine. She received her Doctorate in Behavioral Health at ASU, MSW in Clinical Social Work at Smith College, and BSW at James Madison University. She has maintained a psychotherapy private practice for over 15 years and was working a variety of settings. Dr. Ryan recently completed an Interprofessional Education Fellowship at Salisbury University focused interprofessional care and experience of transgender individuals in the rural MD/DE Eastern Shore and is continuing the work as the lead of the Transgender Interprofessional Care Team, an academic and community partnership team.
