Susan Klumpner, PhD, LCSW, is the Associate Director of Field Education at the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice as well as the part-time Executive Director of The ACE Project, a nonprofit organization that provides free youth development and workforce development programs in Chicago, Baltimore, and Detroit. She has past experience as a former school social worker and extensive knowledge in the design, implementation, and evaluation of after school programming for low-income students of color in urban settings.
Previously, Dr. Klumpner was a research assistant at Chapin Hall evaluating professional development programs for after school providers and was selected as a fellow to the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Minority Fellowship Program servicing underrepresented and underserved communities at-risk for mental health or substance abuse disorders. She previously taught for the MSW program at University of Maryland, University of Michigan and as a lecturer at Widener University and the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. Dr. Klumpner received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Grinnell College, her Master of Arts in Social Service Administration from The Crown Family School, and her doctorate in Social Work from The University of Maryland.
