Dr. Mary Lehman Held is an Associate Professor of the Nashville campus at University of Tennessee, Knoxville College of Social Work. Her research agenda of Latinx immigrant mental health and well-being is driven by her clinical practice experience with Latinx communities in Texas and work with youth in Central America. Dr. Held is invested in increasing knowledge related to risk and resilience among Latinx immigrants throughout the immigration process and how to better address the impact of these hardships. She is also devoted through both research and service to growing the capacity of Latinx/e service providers in the US South.
